San Francisco, (San Pancho) is the perfect romantic getaway for Honeymooners and most find that San Pancho is a special place ... most who visit here, return again and again for the natural beauty and the way it makes you feel alive to be here. There are chickens, dogs, donkeys and horses in the streets of the pueblo, and the people are always smiling. There is a magical feeling to all that happens in San Pancho; you can't escape it! Many who visit end up as neighbors. While many guests don't want to leave the Casa, or poolside, or the beach ... for those who like a more active vacation there are lots of possibilities.

Within the San Pancho area there is horseback riding, hiking or biking in the jungle, kayaking, fishing, surfing, snorkeling, sightseeing along the coast to all of the beautiful cove beaches and interesting villages. Next to us is the village of Sayulita, which is also known for it's surfing and has some great restaurants and shops. A short distance away is Punta Mita where the new Four Seasons Hotel is located ... it is possible to book golf and/or dine there. There is even a weekly fiesta in San Pancho for those interested. We will occasionally, or by request, offer a special dinner on the beach or on the rooftop for the romantically inclined ... it doesn't get any better! Mariachis and/or a romantic guitarist are available as well.

In Puerto Vallarta (25 miles south of San Pancho), there are all kinds of activities ... dominated by fine shopping and gourmet eating (from local lobster, to Mexican specialties, to the incredible shrimp of the area!) However, you can book boat trips for diving, snorkeling, sailing, surfing or whatever you like, or air trips to Guadalajara for shopping for the day. Pretty much every known tourist activity is available in PV ... we love to go, but we can't wait to get home to the tranquility and beauty of San Pancho.

Special note: We do have internet based phone service at Casa Obelisco, calls to the US or Canada are $2 for a 10 minute call, or there is a public phone a short walk away and cybercafés in the town of San Pancho. Please leave your electronics at home with your worries and truly get away from it all! But, if you really need to bring that Laptop, we do have wireless DSL available.
